The Republic of Ireland’s return to the FIA World Rally Championship in 2025 took a major step forward on Thursday with the news that WRC Promoter GmbH has approved the proposed route set out by Motorsport Ireland.
The decision has been made and is waiting for the Irish government to sign up on funding the project to the tune of €15 million.
The potential event would be the first time since 2009 that Ireland has hosted a World Rally Championship event.
