Six-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Scott Dixon, driver of the No.9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda, says that he was speaking to his friend and seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson about potentially competing in the Daytona 500 in the future.

The Iceman is in Daytona this weekend, cheering for Johnson, Bubba Wallace, and several other drivers. Dixon said that he will stay in Daytona overnight and watch the start of the race on Sunday, which has been pushed forward due to the threat of rain. However, the Chip Ganassi Racing driver has to head to Sebring International Raceway for a full-field two-day test as the NTT INDYCAR SERIES prepares for the opening race of the 2025 season, the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg presented by RP Funding, which takes place in two weeks from Sunday.

Dixon confirmed that he will speak with INDYCAR SERIES veteran Helio Castroneves, who will make his NASCAR debut on Sunday for Trackhouse.
