Six-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda was the fastest in the final practice ahead of the Gallagher Grand Prix of Indianapolis on the IMS road course. The Iceman who starts Saturday’s 85-lap race from 15th place set a 01:10.9851s.
Championship leader Alex Palou was second fastest just ahead of Scott McLaughlin and Callum Ilott, who had an impressive afternoon for Juncos Hollinger Racing.
Kyle Kirkwood was fifth with a time of 01:11.4655s just ahead of Rinus VeeKay and Colton Herta who were seventh just ahead of Marcus Ericsson and Agustin Canapino while Marcus Armstrong rounded out the top ten just ahead of Christian Lundgaard and David Malukas.
Alexander Rossi was 13th just ahead of Josef Newgarden who was forced to sit out the last ten minutes of the session for missing the weigh-in.
Helio Castroneves was 15th just ahead of Santino Ferrucci and polesitter Graham Rahal while Linus Lindqvist was 18th just ahead of Felix Rosenqvist and Devlin DeFrancesco who rounded out the top twenty.
Romain Grosjean was 21st just ahead of Pato O’Ward and Will Power while Benjamin Pedersen was 24th just ahead of Ryan Hunter Reay, Jack HArvey and Sting Ray Robb.
