Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon, driver of the No.9 PNC Bank Honda says that NASCAR’s announcement this week that they will head to Mexico Coty next year is a massive miss for INDYCAR.
Speaking after finishing Friday’s practice session in Milwaukee about racing outside of the U.S, Dixon said he is not sure how it happened that INDYCAR is not racing in Mexico.
Josef Newgarden who was fastest in practice said that he would like to see INDYCAR return to Japan or have a race in Europe in somewhere like Brands Hatch or the Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium.
The last time the NTT INDYCAR SERIES raced outside of North Ameria was in 2013 when the sport had an event in São Paulo, Brazil, a race that was won by James Hinchcliffe.
