Firestone Racing will bring over 1,100 tires to the World Wide Technology Raceway for this weekend’s Bommarito Automotive Group 500. Each entry will receive nine sets of the Black Primary tire, with each entrant receiving an extra set of tires for the high-line practice session.
Cara Krstolic, Director Race Tire Engineering and Manufacturing, Chief Engineer Motorsports:
Firestone has produced a Firestone Firehawk race tire for the hybrid-powered cars to race at both St. Louis and Milwaukee ovals based on prior testing with the hybrid. The right side compound is more durable to provide more support for the additional hybrid loads. The left side tires have slightly more compound durability to help provide some lap time drop-off over a stint, but not as much as the initial Milwaukee hybrid testing.
