Marcus Ericsson in the No.8 Huski Chocolate Honda had a strong session in third place with a time of 01:06.3949s just ahead of Simon Pagenaud in the No.60 AutoNation Sirius XM MSR Honda with a time of 01:07.7766s ending up just ahead of Will Power in the No.12 Verizon 5G Team Penske Chevrolet who set a time of 01:06.8203s.

Andretti Autosport’s Romain Grosjean in the No.28 DHL Honda rounded out the top six with a time of 01:06.8317s ending the session just ahead of David Malukas who set a time of 01:06.9005s.

Rinus VeeKay was eighth for Ed Carpenter Racing with a time of 01:06.9144s just ahead of Helio Castroneves in the No.06 AutoNation MSR Honda who set a time of 01:06.9409s. It was a great warm up for Juncos Hollinger Racing’s Callum Ilott in the No.77 Chevrolet as the Englishman rounded out the top ten with a time of 01:07.1214s.

Arrow McLaren SP’s Pato O’Ward in the No.5 Arrow McLaren SP Chevrolet was 11th with a time of 01:07.1740s ending up just ahead of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Jack Harvey in the No.45 Hy-Vee Honda who set a time of 01:07.2087s.

Defending series champion Alex Palou in the No.10 NTT DATA Chip Ganassi Racing Honda was 13th fastest with a time of 01:07.2384s ending up just ahead of Graham Rahal in the No.15 Quartz Motor Oil Honda who clipped the wall during the session breaking the rear tow link but set a time of 01:07.3124s ending the morning just ahead of Josef Newgarden in the No.2 Hitachi Team Penske Chevrolet who set a time of 01:07.3627s.
