Christian Lundgaard in the No.45 Hy-Vee Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Honda was fastest in the final practice session ahead of qualifying for tomorrow’s season-ending Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

Lundgaard set a 01:07.6154s ending up just ahead of Ed Carpenter Racing’s Rinus VeeKay in the No.21 BitNile.com Chevrolet who set a 01:07.6546s. Defending Laguna race winner and newly crowned champion Alex Palou in the No.10 Be The One American Legion Chip Ganassi Racing Honda was third fastest with a time of 01:07.7993s.

Alexander Rossi was fourth fastest, just ahead of Andretti Autosport’s Kyle Kirkwood, while Graham Rahal in the No.15 iPacket Honda was seventh, just ahead of Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda who was eighth with  a time of 01:08.0157s

Scott McLaughlin, who went off track, was ninth just ahead of Will Power in the No.12 Verizon 5G Chevrolet who also had an off-track incident.

Juri Vips had another solid session in the No.30 MiJack Honda as he ended the session in 11th place just ahead of Marcus Armstrong and Romain Grosjean who is competing in his last race for Andretti Autosport and possibly his last INDYCAR SERIES race at least for now on Sunday.

Callum Ilott was 15th for Juncos Hollinger Racing just ahead of Felix Rsoenqvist and Devlin DeFrancesco while Santino Ferrucci in the No.14 Sexton Properties for AJ Foyt Racing had a suspected engine failure ended the session in 18th place just ahead of David Malukas and Meyer Shank Racing’s Tom Blomqvist.

Josef Newgarden in the No.2 Hitachi Team Penske Chevrolet was 21srt just ahead of Ryan Hunter-Reay and Helio Castroneves.

AJ Foyt Racing’s Benjamin Pedersen was 24th just ahead of Sting Ray Robb and Agustin Canapino while Pato O’Ward could only manage 6 laps after crashing and breaking his front suspension.
