Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal took to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday morning to refute claims made by the indyStar’s Nathan Brown about The Thermal Club.
The NTT INDYCAR SERIES event at The Thermal Club on Sunday suffered a technical issue with their broadcast on Fox due to breaker issue resulting in fans missing 20 laps of the race.
Brown described INDYCAR as giving fans an inspiring product and that the sport should not be racing in Thermal.
Rahal countered that argument however by saying:
Uninspiring product…probably the most passes a RC will see this year, green flag, physical with awesome battles all the way, strategy up on the air, tire deg conducive to great wheel to wheel racing… some can’t be pleased and some can’t help but be negative.
Rahal himself, came from 18th on the grid to finish 11h in the race and was on course for a too ten finish but was overtaken by Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon on the last lap.
The race at the 17-turn Thermal Club was also the first INDYCAR event to go caution free since 2020.
The last caution free race the second Harvest Grand Prix in October 2020.
