NTT IndyCar Series veteran Tony Kanaan who will retire from the sport following the 107th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge on May 28 says that Arrow McLaren have a great team behind them.

Speaking to Paddock Eye at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway after announcing his retirement on Wednesday said that when ALexander Rossi arrived in IndyCar in 2016, they didn’t like each other however, he they are great friends now and he is excited to be working with the team who had a great result here last season.

Kanaan said that he was at the Thermal Club during Spring Training and had a great laugh with Felix Rosenqvist and Pato O’Ward and it is going to be a great race.

Speaking during the press conference, Kanaan said he and Chip Ganassi tried to make it work but with Jimmie Johnson leaving the sport it was not possible for the deal to be done and than he got the call from Zak Brown to do the Indy 500 and he also has a number of great sponsors involved in the Arrow McLaren programme.

TK also confirmed that he will attend 12 IndyCar races during the season.
