Italian chassis manufacturer Dallara who have a U.S base in Speedway, Indiana has been at the forefront of safety innovation within the NTT INDYCAR SERIES since 1997.
Dallara produce the monocoque which is manufacturered using carbon fiber and aluminum bulkhead.
The NTT INDYCAR SERIES teams produce their own seats for the driver using expanded polypropylene foam which is moulded to drivers body.
The biggest safety enhancement to be introduced in recent years was the Aeroscreen which was designed and produced in collaboration between Red Bull Advanced Technology in Milton Keynes, UK, PPG and Dallara.
The Aeroscreen made its series debut in June 2020.
Ahead of the start of the 2024 NTT INDYCAR SERIES a new, lighter weight Aeroscreen was introduced.
The Aeroscreen concept was originally tested by Formula One in 2016 by Red Bull Racing before it was decided that they would introduced the halo device.
