AJ Foyt Racing drivers Santino Ferrucci in the No.14 Sexton Properties Chevrolet and Sting Ray Robb in the No.41 GoodHeart Chevrolet will aim to advance in today’s 95-lap Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Ferrucci starts the race from 17th having set a fastest time of 01:08.0344s. The driver of the No.14 Chevrolet received praise from the NBC commentary team having successfully recovered by from a spin earlier on Saturday. Commenting on his qualifying, Ferrucci said:
“I think we did a great job considering our recovery from the spin this morning which put us back a set of tires,. “Things you do in iRacing you usually don’t see on TV.” “I wish I’d gapped myself a little bit better for our run on the reds, but overall, I felt the Sexton Properties Chevrolet was pretty good. I feel like we had a legitimate shot at advancing (to the next round). Now we’ll start 17th. We have a very good race car, so we’ll move forward, pretty easily I hope.”
For Sting Ray Robb in the No.41 GoodHeart Chevrolet who also recovered from an earlier spin it was a tricky qualifying as he will start the race later today from 24th place after setting a time of 01:09.1304s.
