Juncos Hollinger Racing’s Sting Ray Robb in the No.77 GoodHeart Chevrolet says it was awesome after he came through the field at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach from 19th place on the grid to finish inside the top ten in ninth place.

The result was Robb’s best INDYCAR SERIES street course result, equalling his best result. It is something for him and the team to build on for the rest of the season, especially with May fast approaching (no pun intended).

While other drivers around him started the race on the softer Alternate tire, Robb went against strategy and chose an extended opening stint. The strategy soon brought Robb to the front of the field as he led 12 laps and was fast with great pace throughout the race. It was announced on Sunday that Irish racing driver Adam Carroll has joined Juncos Hollinger Racing as a driver coach, and his arrival at the team is already beginning to bear fruit.

Speaking following the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, Robb said:

“What a day. That was awesome. Up ten spots, 19th to ninth on merit. We raced so, so good today. The pace in the car was unbelievable. I knew we had it. We should have been in the Fast 12 in qualifying, but in INDYCAR racing, little things make a big difference. We barely missed the transfer. It’s nice to have a little reward for our work, but all the glory goes to God. It’s been a long three years to this point, but to come back with a team I’ve won with and a championship before. With a leader like Ricardo Juncos, Brad Hollinger and Dave O’Neil, those guys put the hard work in and chose the right people for the job. Townsend, my engineer, huge shoutout to the guys on the pit crew; great stops. Little bobble on the first stop but we nailed the next two. I’m so happy. A little glimmer of hope for our future. I don’t think this is our max potential yet. We’re going to keep driving forward and hopefully, some more to come.”
