Santino Ferrucci in the No.14 Sexton Properties AJ Foyt Racing had a fantastic day at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach on Sunday.
Ferrucci started the 90 lap race from the back of the grid in 27th and came through the field to finish in 11th place.
Speaking following the race, Ferrucci said:
A pretty awesome day, considering we started last and yesterday was the opposite. “Our first stint was awesome, followed up by a really solid green (tire) stint, and yeah, that kind of sealed the race for us. Engineering did a great job on strategy. we chose the right tire for our car, and the mechanics did a phenomenal job getting the car in and out of pit lane quick and efficient. So, all in all, I mean, the day couldn’t have gotten much better than what it did for the Sexton Properties crew.”
Ferrucci received the Jostens biggest mover award after making up 16 positions from his start place.
