Andretti Global’s Kyle Kirkwood in the No.27 PreFab Honda ended Alex Palou’s winning start to the season as he dominated the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.

Kirkwood started the race from pole and in taking victory he moved into second in the championship and is only 34 points behind Palou.

Christian Lundgaard scored his second consecutive third place finish for Arrow McLaren.

Felix Rosenqvist came home in fourth place for Meyer Shank Racing and it also means that the top four in the championship were the top four in the race but with Palou leading the standings.

Will Power came from 13th on the grid to finish the race in fifth just ahead of Scott McLaughlin and Colton Herta.

Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda was 8th while Sting Ray Robb scored his career best street course finish with 9th having started the race from 19th place for Juncos Hollinger Racing on a great day for the Speedway-based team.

Kyffin Simpson had his career best finish to date with a tenth place for Chip Ganassi Racing.

Paddock Eye’s driver of the day goes to Santino Ferrucci who came from last on the grid to finish the race in 11th.

Marcus Ericsson was 12th just ahead of Marcus Armstrong and Alexander Rossi.

Louis Foster was 16th just ahead of David Malukas and Robert Shwartzman who had a fantastic day for PREMA Racing in 18th place.

Rinus VeeKay was 19th just ahead of Nolan Siegel and Callum Ilott.

Graham Rahal was 22nd just ahead of Christian Rasmussen and Devlin DeFrancesco.

Conor Daly was 25th just ahead of Jacob Abel while Josef Newgarden rounded out the order in 27th due to a seat belt issue.

For the second race in a row the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach went caution free.
